Men's Amateur & Senior Amateur Four-Ball Championship

Terms of the Competition

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Gender: The Championship is open to male amateur golfers.
  • Membership: Players must be a member of the NYSGA, defined as either belonging to an NYSGA member club or an NYSGA eClub (NYS residency required of eClub members).
  • Age: The following age requirements are set for each Championship:
    • 11th NYS Men's Amateur Four-Ball: None.
    • 10th NYS Men's Senior Amateur Four-Ball: At least 55 years old as of May 22, 2022.
  • USGA Handicap Index: Players must have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index of 8.4 or less issued by their NYSGA member club.

 

ENTRY INFORMATION

  • Entries: Player must register online prior to the established deadline (see below). Entries by mail or fax will not be accepted. A player may only submit one entry. Any player found to have submitted more than one entry may be subject to disqualification.
  • Entry Fee: $375 per team
  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Thursday, April 21, 2022). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.
  • Refund Policy: A portion of the entry fee, based on the schedule below, will be refunded regardless of reason if the NYSGA is notified (315-471-6979 or via email at deb@nysga.org): Prior to Deadline: Entry fee less $15. After the Deadline: Entry fee less $50.

 

FIELD SIZE, WAIT LIST, AND HANDICAP REVIEW

  • Field Size: 104 players. The number of teams accepted in the Men's and Senior Division will be proportionally based using the total number of  entries received in each division at the close of entries.
  • Wait List Procedure:  If either division becomes oversubscribed, the division's field will be determined by the teams (see field size) with the lowest combined Handicap Index as of the close of entires (April 21, 2022). Any team that does not earn a spot in the field will be placed on a wait list ordered by their combined Handicap Index. A registered team that does not qualify via this procedure to play in the Championship will have their full entry refunded either (1) when they ask to be removed from the wait list or (2) once the tournament starts.
  • Handicap Review: A player may be subject to Handicap review if he does not have at least five scores posted in the previous 3 posting months. The NYSGA reserves the right to amend the field/waitlist at any time and for any reason.
  • Exemptions: Teams that include a past champion (past ten (10) years of the NYS Men's Four-Ball, NYS Men's Amateur, NYS Men's Mid-Amateur, and/or NYS Men's Senior Amateur are exempt from the wait list procedure.

 

CHAMPIONSHIPS, FORMAT, & SCHEDULE

  • Championships: 11th NYS Men's Amateur Four-Ball & 10th NYS Men's Senior Amateur Four-Ball Championships
  • Format: 36 holes of four-ball stroke play
  • Schedule of Events
    • Saturday, May 21: Practice Rounds (Not Included)
    • Sunday, May 22: Round 1 (18 Holes) - 1:00pm Shotgun Start
    • Monday, May 23: Round 2 (18 Holes) - 9:00am Shotgun Start

 

OTESAGA ROOM RATE
The NYSGA has a room rate of $209 (includes breakfast, but not gratuity) at the Otesaga. Details on how to secure a room will be included when your pending application is tentatively approved. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE A SPOT IN THE FIELD. We recommend waiting until you have secured a spot in the field until reserving a room, otherwise you may be subject to cancellation penalties.

 

CADDIES

The use of a caddie is prohibited.

 

CARTS

The use of a golf cart is approved without restriction, payment for which is included in the entry fee.

 

INFORMATION & PAIRINGS

Complete Championship details, including information about practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages played, will be emailed to players and posted on this website after entries close.

OTESAGA ROOM RATE

Information on the hotel room rate will be included in the registration email confirmation.
