CHAMPIONSHIPS, FORMAT, AND CUT INFORMATION

There are two championships being conducted concurrently, the format and cut information for each is listed below:

  • 95th NYS Women's Amateur Championship*: 54 holes, cut after 36 to low-30 and ties.
  • 16th NYS Women's Mid-Amateur Championship: 36 holes, no cut.


AWARD FOR LOW JUNIOR (18U)
All players who are 18 or younger - as of July 15 - will also compete for the Low Junior award, a division ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

There are two dates schedule for practice rounds, Thursday is for local players (within 60 miles) and Sunday for everyone else.

If you are not a local player and want to play on Sunday - but all the times are filled - please call/text 315-481-1152. The local player that lives closest to St. George's will be required to forfeit their Sunday practice round starting time.

WITHDRAWALS

REGISTRATION
Players must register at St. George's by 6:00pm on Sunday, July 13. Players unable to register in-person may complete
this form online.

TUESDAY, JULY 15

  • 7:00am................... Practice facility open

DRIVING RANGE

Use of the driving range and practice facilities for all rounds is included. Balls will be available on the range (see schedule for times). Players will be required to use the mats during practice rounds. Grass turf will be used on Monday and Tuesday.

 

CADDIES & BIBS
A player may provide her own caddie. No caddies are available through the host club. All caddies will be required to use an NYSGA caddie bib during competition rounds. Bibs can be checked out at the registration table; a license or credit card is required as a deposit.

 

PLAYER LUNCHES

A complimentary lunch is provided to players on Monday - Tuesday. For everyone else, lunch may be purchased using CASH ONLY. There will be a cash bar.

 

ON-COURSE WATER & SNACKS

Water bottles and fruit/snacks will be provided on the golf course for players/caddies only. 

LIVE SCORING - GOLF GENIUS

One player or caddie from each group must enter scores into the Golf Genius app. If no player volunteers, it will be decided by tossing a tee.


LOCKER RESERVATION
If you would like use of a locker at St. George's G&CC, please email champs@nysga.org to reserve a space.

 

GOLF CARTS

  • Women's Amateur: Not permitted during practice (new) or competition rounds.
  • Women's Mid-Amateur: Permitted for all rounds. The fee is $30 per player, payable to the pro shop before each round using CREDIT CARD ONLY. The NYSGA's One Seat Golf Cart Policy is in effect.

 

TRANSPORTATION/CART REQUESTS

Players must not ride on any form of transportation during practice or championship rounds unless authorized by the Committee. The optional condition prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect will be in effect. A disabled player or caddie may be permitted to use a golf cart as an accommodation to his or her disability. As required by the ADA, the NYSGA will evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis. Please complete the NYSGA Golf Cart Request Form.

PUSH CARTS

The use of a push cart, whether manual or electric, is permitted. A seat attachment must not be used.
 

SPECTATORS AND CARTS

Spectators are encouraged to attend this Championship follow guidelines consistent with golf competitions. Spectators are expected to maintain a reasonable distance (at least 20 yards) from players and to always walk with or ahead of the group they are following. Spectators must not give players advice, doing so could result in the player being penalized. Spectators who are in breach of these recommendations may be subject to removal from the golf course.

 

The NYSGA will accommodate spectators with an ADA disability by allowing them to ride in their own golf cart. To request this accommodation, a spectator must complete an return the NYSGA Golf Cart Request Form at least 24 hours in advance.

The NYSGA does not have a group hotel rate assigned for this Championship. Listed below are a small sample of hotels in the region, their distance from the golf course, and the estimated commute time.

LOCAL RULES AND CONDITIONS
Listed below are a number of important Conditions of Competition and Local Rules for this Championship.

  • RULES OF GOLF; WHEN COMPETITION IS FINAL. Play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and R&A. Questions are to be referred to the NYSGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. The result of this Championship is final when the Championship trophy has been presented.
  • NYSGA LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION (HARD CARD). Download the 2025 NYSGA Hard Card (click here).
  • GOLF BALLS; DRIVER HEADS. Model Local Rules G-1 and G-3 are in effect. Visit the USGA website for a list of approved golf balls (click here) and driver heads (click here).
  • PERSONAL APPEARANCE. Players must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing.

 

PACE OF PLAY

It is a condition that players must play without undue delay in accordance with guidelines established by the Committee. To view the NYSGA's Pace of Play Policy, click here.

 

EVACUATION PLAN
In the event of a discontinuance of play during this championship, players must adhere to the evacuation plan distributed by the NYSGA.

 

PLAYER CONDUCT

Players and/or their guests must conduct themselves in a reasonable manner at all times. Any excessive display of anger, vulgar language, club throwing, alcohol abuse, illegal drug use, lack of golfing etiquette or disrespect to a fellow player or any other individual may be grounds or disqualification from any tournament. The NYSGA reserves the right to revoke a player's tournament entry, without a refund, at any time for conduct deemed inappropriate or damaging to the NYSGA.
 

CONDITIONS; TERMS; SCHEDULES

The NYSGA reserves the right to amend any of the conditions, terms, or schedules published for this Championship. The decision of the NYSGA in any matter will be final.
