MEMORANDUM TO PLAYERS


EVENT DOCUMENTS

 

FORMAT, QUALIFYING PLACES, AND TIES

  • FORMAT. 17 holes of individual stroke play
  • QUALIFYING SPOTS. The field of 84 contestants will compete for 8 qualifying spots and 2 alternates will advance to the final qualifying stage.
  • PLAYOFF. A hole-by-hole playoff will be used to break a tie for the final qualifying spot, first alternate, and/or second alternate. All announcements regarding the play-off will be made at the public scoreboard upon completion of play.

  • 6:00am.......................Practice facilities open
  • 8:00am-12:40pm.......Starting times from hole #1
  • 5:30pm......................Playoff and/or awards presentation

WITHDRAWALS

DRIVING RANGE

The driving range will be provided complimentary to players (see schedule for times). A shuttle service will not be provided. The player is responsible for securing transportation to and from the driving range, which is located north of the clubhouse on East Lake Road (click here to view the map).


PRACTICE ROUNDS
Practice rounds are available on Sunday, June 7 for $60 (includes cart). 
Tee times are required - call (315) 824-1432 and identify yourself as a contestant in this qualifier.

 

COURSE SETUP
Play will be from the club's black tee yardage.


FOOD SERVICE

  • On-course snacks and beverages will be provided by the NYSGA during the qualifying round - players/caddies only please.
  • Seven Oaks Clubhouse Restaurant will be open from 11:00am to 8:00pm (Cash or Credit Card).

REGISTRATION AND START OF PLAY
Players should report to the 1st tee ten (10) minutes prior to their starting time for announcements. There is no registration required when you arrive at Seven Oaks.

PUSH CARTS
The use of a pull cart is approved for this qualifier. None are available through the host club to rent so plan accordingly. Electronic golf bag carts are permitted but must not have seat attachment.

CADDIES
A competitor may bring their own caddie or carry their own clubs. There are no caddies available through the host club. A caddie is required to wear an NYSGA caddie bib, which will be provided at starting during announcements.

 

LIVE SCORING
Live scoring via the Golf Genius mobile app is required of one player (or caddie). Please download via their smartphone's app store (search "Golf Genius") in advance of their arrival to starting.

 

LOCAL RULES AND CONDITIONS
Listed below are a number of important Conditions of Competition and Local Rules for this qualifier.

  • USGA LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION (HARD CARD)Click here.
  • GROOVE CONDITIONPlayers’ clubs must conform to current groove and punch mark specifications. Clubs manufactured before January 1, 2010 may not conform. If you are unsure whether a club qualifies, please consult with the USGA before your round.  See Model Local Rule G-2 (click here).
  • CONFORMING BALLS AND DRIVER HEADS. Visit the USGA website for a list of approved golf balls (click here) and driver heads (click here).
  • ONE BALL RULE. Is NOT in effect for any USGA qualifying rounds in 2026.
  • DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES. For all USGA qualifying rounds, the use of distance measuring devices to measure distance only is permitted.


PROHIBITING USE OF MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION (LOCAL RULE G-6)
Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorized by the Committee. The optional condition prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures will be in effect. A breach will result in the general penalty, two-strokes, on each hole where the breach occurred.

PLAYER/CADDIE USE OF GOLF CART
A disabled player or caddie may be permitted to use a golf cart as an accommodation to their ability. As required by the ADA, the USGA will evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis. To learn more and to submit the required form,

SPECTATOR CARTS
Spectator carts are not permitted, exceptions are made for those with a permanent disability. As required by the ADA, the NYSGA will evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis. To request a spectator cart, please complete and return the required form,

PACE OF PLAY
The
NYSGA Pace of Play policy is adopted for this qualifier.

CODE OF CONDUCT
The
NYSGA Code of Conduct is in effect for this qualifier.

EVACUATION PLAN
In the event of a discontinuance of play during the qualifier, players must adhere to the evacuation plan distributed by the Committee at their starting tee.
