The New York State Men's Mid-Amateur Championship was established in 1984 for the career amateur that competes at the highest level while carrying a full life off the course. More than 400 golfers enter each year. Eight sectional qualifiers across the state cut that to a field of 132, who then compete over three days and 54 holes of stroke play for the title. The 42nd playing comes to the Country Club of Buffalo, the celebrated Donald Ross design and future host of the 2027 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur and 2032 U.S. Senior Amateur Championships.
