Memorandum to Players
FORMAT
This qualifier's format is 18 holes of stroke play.
TIES AND PLAYOFF
If there is a tie for the last qualifying spot or either of the alternate positions, there will be a sudden-death playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. It is the players' responsibility to keep informed as to the time and status of any playoff.
COURSE YARDAGE
The course (nines 1 over 3) will be setup from the blue tees at 6,721 yards.
REGISTRATION
Players are requested to register beneath the NYSGA tent staged next to the practice putting green. Players must report to the first tee at least five minutes prior to their starting time, where they will receive important instructions and notices.
SPOT ALLOCATION
There are 2 qualifying and 2 alternates spots assigned to this qualifier.
PRACTICE ROUNDS
There are practice rounds available for all registered players on Wednesday, August 15th. The fee is $40, which does not include a cart. To secure a tee time contact the pro shop directly at (518) 399-2992 and identify yourself as a contestant in this qualifier.
CADDIES
A player may provide his own caddie. Caddies are not available through the host club.
DRIVING RANGE
Is provided free of charge to all players and will be open starting at 6:45am.
FOOD SERVICE
The club's restaurant and halfway house will be open to players (cash and credit cards). Complimentary water and energy bars/bananas will be available on the first and tenth tees.
TRANSPORTATION/CART REQUESTS
Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorized by the Committee. The optional condition prescribed in Appendix I of The Rules of Golf will be in effect.
If a player or caddie would like to request the use of a cart, they must complete the paperwork on the USGA website.
RAIN DATE
If required, the rain date will be Friday, August 17, 2018.
LOCAL RULES AND CONDITIONS

- Distance Measuring Devices: A player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. For more information, visit www.usga.org/dmd
- "One Ball" Condition: The “One Ball" Condition will be in effect. This condition requires players to use the same brand and type of golf ball throughout the stipulated round. Please refer to (click here) Appendix 1; Part B - Conditions of the Competition; 1-b (Specification of the Ball).
- Notice to Competitors: Players will receive the Notice to Players and Hole Location sheet on the first tee prior to their tee time.
- Pace of Play Policy: The NYSGA's Pace of Play Policy (click here) will be in use at this qualifier.
“GROOVE AND PUNCH MARK SPECIFICATION” CONDITION
Clubs: Grooves – The player’s clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010 – See Decision 4-1/1 and championship entry for details.
WITHDRAWAL FROM QUALIFYING
Players who must from Qualifying must notify the USGA (908-326-1950 or via e-mail at champs@usga.org). If you must withdraw on the morning of the qualifier, please call or text the official-in-charge noted below.
